I’m an entertainer. I get up on stage and I try to make people enjoy my music, and that political arena – I’m going to stay out of it, right out.

Romance is alive and well in America, but the 50 percent who can’t make it work fail because of selfishness. It gets down to that. You can’t oversimplify it because every situation is so complex.

You know, I always wondered what it would have been like to just go to school, play football with the guys and go to the prom. Just like a ‘regular person.’

I am not going to condemn anybody. That’s where religion gets a bad name, when people get holier than thou. We are all human. If my children make a mistake, I want them to know it is all right and they should try harder next time.

I had a rough spot about being a goody-goody Mormon, and not drinking or smoking. But I’m kind of grateful I’ve got this image now. There are no skeletons in my closet. What you see is what you get.

I’m going to be true to what I want to do, because if I care what people think about me, I’m a puppet. Which I have been in my life. And you can’t live life that way, man!

I look at Justin Bieber and my heart breaks for him, because I know what he’s going to go through. He knows it. Everybody knows it.

Our father taught us such a work ethic that if there’s something worth doing, it’s worth doing well.

Thank goodness I had a great family growing up, a great foundation. But I will say my faith, my parents, my family, all that stuff is very, very important. And I’ll say that until the day I die.

It’s a lot of work to keep reinventing yourself and coming up with new stuff, but that’s what it takes to be in show business.
